Warranty Terms & Conditions
THE RV ROOF MAN
Warranty Terms, Conditions, Maintenance Requirements & Exclusions
Fixing Roofs, Saving Vacations
The RV Roof Man offers several warranty programs depending on the roofing system, service performed, materials used, condition of the RV, and warranty option purchased. The customer's invoice or written agreement determines the specific warranty type and coverage period applicable to that RV.
These Warranty Terms and Conditions apply to all warranties issued by The RV Roof Man unless different terms are specifically stated in writing on the customer's invoice.
1. WARRANTY TYPES
Depending on the service purchased, a customer may receive one of the following warranties or guarantees.
50-Year No-Leak / No-Maintenance Warranty
When specifically stated on the customer's invoice, qualifying roof systems may receive up to a 50-year no-leak/no-maintenance warranty.
"No maintenance" means the customer is not required to routinely reseal or recoat the covered roof system simply because of age.
It does NOT mean the RV may be neglected.
Routine cleaning, inspections, and reasonable care of the RV remain the owner's responsibility.
Coverage applies only to leaks caused by a failure of covered materials or workmanship performed by The RV Roof Man.
Lifetime No-Leak / No-Maintenance Warranty
Certain qualifying installations may be sold with a Lifetime No-Leak / No-Maintenance Warranty.
Coverage applies to leaks caused by failure of covered materials or workmanship performed by The RV Roof Man for the applicable warranty period.
Transferability applies only when specifically stated on the customer's invoice or warranty documentation.
A Lifetime or No-Maintenance Warranty does not eliminate the owner's responsibility to clean, inspect, and reasonably care for the RV and roof.
5-Year No-Leak / No-Maintenance Warranty
When specified on the invoice, covered materials and workmanship are protected against qualifying roof leaks for five years from the warranty start date.
Routine cleaning and inspection are still required.
5 + 15 Warranty
The 5 + 15 Warranty provides two different stages of coverage.
Years 1–5: No-leak/no-maintenance coverage for qualifying leaks caused by covered materials or workmanship performed by The RV Roof Man.
Years 6–20: Product/material coverage only.
During the product-only portion, labor, preparation, removal, installation, access, travel, shipping, containers, removal/reinstallation of equipment, and other associated costs are not included unless specifically stated otherwise in writing.
20-Year Material Warranty
A 20-Year Material Warranty covers qualifying failure of the warranted roofing material itself.
This is a material warranty only unless the customer's invoice specifically states otherwise.
It is NOT automatically a 20-year no-leak warranty.
Labor, preparation, installation, removal, travel, service calls, shipping, equipment removal/reinstallation, and other associated expenses are not included unless specifically stated in writing.
Transferability is determined by the customer's individual invoice. Some material warranties are transferable with the original paid invoice, while others remain with the original purchaser.
90-Day No-Leak / Courtesy Guarantee
When provided, the 90-day guarantee applies to qualifying workmanship-related leaks originating from areas specifically serviced or sealed by The RV Roof Man.
Leaks caused by unrelated components, pre-existing conditions, structural problems, damage, or areas that were not part of the contracted work are not covered.
A service-call or diagnostic fee may apply when an inspection determines that the reported problem is unrelated to our workmanship or covered materials.
2. WHAT "NO LEAK / NO MAINTENANCE" MEANS
The term No Leak / No Maintenance does not mean No Inspection, No Cleaning, or No Care.
The purpose of this warranty is to eliminate routine resealing or recoating of the covered roof system when the system remains intact and undamaged.
The RV owner remains responsible for reasonable care of the RV.
This includes:
- Keeping the roof reasonably clean.
- Routinely inspecting the roof and roof-mounted components.
- Inspecting the RV after significant travel.
- Inspecting after severe weather, storms, falling branches, or other events that could cause damage.
- Promptly reporting suspected leaks or damage.
- Taking reasonable steps to prevent additional damage after discovering a problem.
- Providing reasonable access to the RV for inspection and warranty service.
We strongly recommend inspecting and cleaning the roof approximately every 90 days and inspecting it before and after significant trips.
Failure to inspect, clean, report, or mitigate a known problem may result in denial of coverage when that failure causes or substantially contributes to the damage.
3. COVERED LEAKS
Unless otherwise stated on the invoice, no-leak warranties apply to qualifying water intrusion directly caused by failure of:
- Covered roofing materials installed by The RV Roof Man.
- Covered sealants installed by The RV Roof Man.
- Covered workmanship performed by The RV Roof Man.
- Covered portions of the roofing system specifically identified on the customer's invoice.
Coverage does not automatically extend to every component installed on, through, underneath, or adjacent to the RV roof.
4. PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS
The RV Roof Man is not responsible for conditions that existed before our work was performed unless we specifically agreed in writing to repair and warrant that condition.
Examples include:
- Existing water damage.
- Dry rot.
- Rotten or weakened decking.
- Structural damage.
- Corrosion.
- Delamination.
- Previous leaks.
- Hidden damage.
- Previous improper repairs.
- Failed factory materials.
- Failed third-party coatings.
- Existing repair tapes.
- Flex Seal or similar products.
- Acrylic, silicone, elastomeric, or other previously installed coatings.
- Existing sealants or adhesives.
- Damage concealed underneath roofing, coatings, tape, fixtures, moldings, or other components.
The application of our roofing system does not create a warranty for pre-existing structural or substrate conditions.
5. PRIOR COATINGS, SEALANTS & REPAIR TAPES
When an RV has previously been repaired or coated by another person, company, manufacturer, or owner, The RV Roof Man cannot guarantee the long-term adhesion or performance of those underlying materials.
When practical, previous failed materials may be removed or prepared before installation of our system.
However, some materials cannot be completely removed without damaging the original roof membrane, decking, fixture, molding, or RV structure.
If a previous coating, tape, sealant, adhesive, or repair product fails underneath our system and causes separation, movement, leaking, or other damage, that underlying failure is not considered a failure of The RV Roof Man's material or workmanship.
Any special exception to this exclusion must be specifically documented in writing.
6. STRUCTURAL MOVEMENT & RV FLEXING
RVs naturally flex and move during travel and use.
The warranty does not cover failures caused by structural movement beyond the ability of the roofing system, including:
- Excessive chassis or body flex.
- Movement of roof decking.
- Separation of roof decking.
- Structural failure.
- Loose or moving fixtures.
- Loose moldings.
- Movement of walls, caps, or roof assemblies.
- Rot or deterioration underneath the roofing system.
- Collision or impact-related movement.
A roofing coating or sealant cannot prevent structural components from moving or failing.
7. ROOF FIXTURES, APPLIANCES & COMPONENTS
Our roof warranty does not automatically warrant the mechanical or structural integrity of roof-mounted equipment or components.
Examples include:
- Air conditioners.
- Roof vents.
- Plumbing vents.
- Skylights.
- Refrigerator vents.
- Antennas.
- Satellite dishes.
- Solar panels.
- Mounting brackets.
- Roof racks.
- Ladders.
- Fans.
- Factory moldings.
- Front and rear caps.
- Wiring or cable penetrations.
- Any other equipment mounted through or onto the roof.
If a component itself cracks, breaks, separates, moves, deteriorates, or fails, resulting damage or water intrusion is not considered a roofing-system failure unless the problem was directly caused by covered workmanship performed by The RV Roof Man.
8. NEW PENETRATIONS, MODIFICATIONS & EQUIPMENT
Any alteration made after completion of our work may affect warranty coverage.
This includes installation, removal, replacement, or modification of:
- Solar panels.
- Air conditioners.
- Satellite systems.
- Antennas.
- Roof vents.
- Fans.
- Plumbing vents.
- Racks.
- Cameras.
- Wiring.
- Brackets.
- Screws or fasteners.
- New roof penetrations.
- Any other roof-mounted equipment.
Damage or leaks caused by customer or third-party modifications are not covered.
Unauthorized cutting, drilling, screwing, sealing, coating, or modification of covered areas may void coverage for the affected portion of the roof.
Contact The RV Roof Man before making significant modifications to a warranted roof whenever possible.
9. THIRD-PARTY REPAIRS
Repairs or alterations performed by another company, technician, owner, dealer, manufacturer, or other third party are not warranted by The RV Roof Man.
If another party modifies or repairs a covered area and that work contributes to a failure, coverage for the affected area may be denied.
Emergency action necessary to prevent additional damage should be documented whenever reasonably possible.
10. PHYSICAL & EXTERNAL DAMAGE
The warranty does not cover damage caused by outside forces, including but not limited to:
- Tree branches.
- Falling objects.
- Road debris.
- Hail or severe weather damage.
- Wind damage.
- Collision.
- Accidents.
- Vandalism.
- Animals, birds, rodents, or pests.
- Foot traffic or misuse.
- Improper storage.
- RV covers rubbing or wearing against the roof.
- Objects dragged across the roof.
- Customer-caused damage.
- Third-party-caused damage.
A warranty against material or workmanship failure is not insurance against physical damage.
11. CLEANING & CHEMICAL DAMAGE
The owner must use reasonable care when cleaning the roof.
Damage caused by improper chemicals, solvents, cleaners, excessive pressure washing, scraping, abrasive cleaning methods, or other inappropriate cleaning techniques is not covered.
The roof should be cleaned using methods and products compatible with the installed roofing system.
12. COSMETIC APPEARANCE
Unless specifically stated otherwise, warranty coverage relates to the functional performance of the roofing system and not cosmetic appearance.
Cosmetic conditions that do not affect waterproofing are generally not covered, including:
- Color variations.
- Fading.
- Discoloration.
- Staining.
- Dirt retention.
- Changes in sheen.
- Surface texture.
- Roller or application marks.
- Minor surface irregularities.
- Differences in appearance between repaired and original areas.
A roof can remain completely functional even when its appearance changes over time.
13. CUSTOMER NEGLECT
Warranty coverage may be denied when neglect causes or contributes to the claimed damage.
Examples include:
- Allowing debris to accumulate for extended periods.
- Failing to reasonably clean the roof.
- Failing to inspect the RV.
- Ignoring visible damage.
- Continuing to use the RV after discovering an active leak without taking reasonable action.
- Allowing a minor problem to develop into substantial damage.
- Failing to notify The RV Roof Man within a reasonable period after discovering a potential warranty issue.
"No Maintenance" does not mean the owner may knowingly allow damage or a leak to continue.
14. REPORTING A WARRANTY CLAIM
Suspected warranty issues should be reported to The RV Roof Man as soon as reasonably possible after discovery.
Customers may be asked to provide:
- Photographs.
- Video.
- Original invoice or proof of purchase.
- Description of the problem.
- Date the problem was discovered.
- Information regarding recent travel, storms, repairs, modifications, or other events.
- Access to the RV for inspection.
The customer must take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage while the claim is being evaluated.
15. WARRANTY INSPECTIONS & SERVICE CALLS
A warranty claim does not automatically mean that every inspection, mobile visit, diagnostic service, or repair is free.
If inspection determines that the problem resulted from covered material or workmanship, service will be handled according to the customer's applicable warranty.
If the issue is determined to be unrelated to covered workmanship or materials, normal diagnostic, mobile-service, travel, labor, and repair charges may apply.
The RV Roof Man provides mobile RV roof service, so warranty inspections and repairs are performed where your RV is located. Applicable travel or mobile-service charges may apply unless the customer's written warranty specifically includes mobile service.
16. CONSEQUENTIAL & INTERIOR DAMAGE
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, warranty coverage is limited to the covered roofing material or workmanship.
The RV Roof Man is not responsible under the roof warranty for incidental or consequential losses arising from an excluded condition or from a customer's failure to promptly report or mitigate a problem, including damage to:
- Interior walls.
- Ceilings.
- Flooring.
- Furniture.
- Cabinets.
- Electronics.
- Appliances.
- Personal belongings.
- Stored property.
- Other portions of the RV.
Customers should immediately report suspected water intrusion and take reasonable steps to protect the RV from additional damage.
17. MATERIAL-ONLY WARRANTY CLAIMS
When coverage is specifically identified as Material Only, The RV Roof Man's obligation is limited to the applicable replacement or repair material as described by the customer's warranty.
Material-only coverage does not include labor, preparation, removal of existing material, installation, travel, mobile service, access, equipment removal or reinstallation, shipping, containers, disposal, or other associated expenses unless specifically stated otherwise.
Photos, documentation, inspection, or other verification may be required before replacement material is authorized.
18. TRANSFERABILITY
Warranty transferability depends on the warranty purchased.
A warranty is transferable only when the customer's invoice or written warranty specifically states that it is transferable.
When transferability is offered, the new owner should retain the original paid invoice and warranty documentation.
If the warranty does not specifically state that it is transferable, it remains with the original purchaser.
19. WARRANTY START DATE
Unless otherwise stated in writing, warranty coverage begins on the completion date or warranty start date shown on the customer's invoice.
The length and type of warranty shown on the customer's invoice control over general descriptions of other warranty programs on this website.
20. CUSTOMER'S INVOICE CONTROLS COVERAGE
The RV Roof Man offers multiple roofing systems and warranty levels.
Not every customer receives the same warranty.
The customer's final paid invoice, written warranty, and documented scope of work establish:
- Which areas were serviced.
- Which materials were installed.
- Warranty duration.
- Whether coverage is no-leak/no-maintenance, workmanship, material-only, or another form of coverage.
- Whether the warranty is transferable.
- Any job-specific exclusions or pre-existing conditions.
Descriptions of other warranty programs on this website do not upgrade, extend, or replace the warranty actually purchased by the customer.
21. WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER UNRELATED RV FAILURES
The RV Roof Man provides roofing and sealing services.
A roof warranty does not constitute a warranty on the entire RV.
Failures involving the RV's structure, walls, windows, siding, plumbing, appliances, chassis, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, or other unrelated components remain outside the roof warranty unless specifically included in writing.
Water intrusion can originate from areas other than the roof. A water leak inside an RV does not by itself establish that the warranted roofing system failed.
22. IMPORTANT OWNER RESPONSIBILITY
The best protection for any RV roof is early detection.
Customers should periodically inspect their RV, keep the roof reasonably clean, inspect after travel and severe weather, and immediately report anything unusual.
Our No-Leak / No-Maintenance warranties are designed so customers do not have to continually reseal and recoat a properly functioning covered roof system.
They are not intended to eliminate reasonable ownership responsibilities or provide coverage for neglect, accidents, structural failures, outside damage, third-party work, modifications, or unrelated RV component failures.
