Lap Sealant vs Non-Sag Sealant: Which Should You Use?

Both products seal RV roofs — they just shine in different places.

Use lap sealant when…

  • You’re sealing horizontal roof seams, vent bases, and skylights
  • You need material that can level / fill deeper voids
  • You’re doing a full fixture encapsulation on the roof deck

Start with Forever Extra Leveling Lap Sealant for vents and penetrations.

Use non-sag sealant when…

  • You’re sealing vertical joints, windows, doors, trims, or moldings
  • You need the bead to stay put without running or slumping
  • You’re working on sidewalls or upright transitions

Grab Forever non-sag super sealant (single tubes, 3-packs, and promos).

Quick rule of thumb

Flat roof fixtures → lap / extra leveling. Vertical surfaces → non-sag. Many roofs need both.
